Is This Thing On?

This is my maiden post on my newest blog attempt. I'm not really sure why I am even trying this again. Well, that isn't quite accurate. A writing friend and mentor just shared her new blog with me. That got me all inspired and energized. The trick will be to find the inspiration and motivation to keep plodding on once the initial creative energy burst wears off.

That may be the impetus for continuing this particular blog. As The Strokesmodel, I have been gimping along for almost 11 years into my new life. Something or some One presses me to move forward with each new day. Call it "Passion." Call it "My Higher Power." This blog will give me the opportunity to ruminate on those sources of power and empowerment that move me. Alternately, I can blast away at those opposing forces that block me.

This afternoon, I will be heading out to the Asian Festival at Franklin Park. The weather promises to cooperate, so I am looking forward to finding lots of creative grist at the festival. Before I go, though, I'd better recharge my camera batteries...
